The Foundry

👋🏼 welcome to the foundry!

hey there, i’m rachael, the owner and shopkeeper of the foundry, and i’m so happy you’re here! with so many new faces joining us, i figured it was time for a little reintroduction.

big family energy – i’m #2 out of 8 siblings and have 60+ first cousins. my whole life, i’ve made decisions based on whether i’d be a good example to my siblings… no pressure, right? but honestly, i love being the older (wiser) one.

this store is my happy place – i absolutely love being the owner of the foundry. working with insanely talented makers who pour their hearts into their craft is inspiring every single day. i love sharing their stories, curating this space, and creating a place where people feel at home.

stress = no snacks – love my job, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t stressful. when i’m overwhelmed, i forget to eat… so if i’m looking extra thin, send chips and queso immediately.

mexican food is my love language tacos forever. when i was pregnant with my son, we were convinced he’d be born wearing a sombrero. spoiler: he wasn’t, but the taco obsession remains.

i love to laugh, but my head disagrees – my family says i have a cackle and throw my head back when i laugh… which instantly gives me a headache. worth it, though. fun is fun! but apparently, i also have a “serious” side. what do you think?

walking billboard for shopping local – if you see me, there’s a 90% chance i’m in a foundry shirt. the other 10%? i’m probably in another shirt i bought at the foundry. local biz owners, let’s trade shirts—my husband will be thrilled.

mr. foundry & the fam – i’ve been married to khris (aka mr. foundry) for 21 years. funny story… we celebrated our anniversary on the wrong date for 11 years before realizing it when we applied for passports. we have two incredible kids: gannon (20), who’s working as an electrician, and emree (17), who’s a senior in high school. time flies!

✨ i embrace the chaos – i’m a messy maker through and through. i focus on making the store look beautiful, even if the backroom looks like a tornado hit it. i know what i’m good at (decorating), and i lean on those around me for what i’m not (like my husband, who cooks, cleans, and does laundry so i can chase this dream).
